Automotive Account Executive at The Morning Call
January 2011 - August 2011 | Allentown, Pa
In 2011 David A Koder took on a new roll where he was not only providing dealerships with solutions from Cars.com, but also from The Morning Call. David became a hybrid rep. These nine accounts were all down in spending since 2008. He put together a business plan at the end of November 2010 and met with his accounts in December to find out what their problems and goals were in 2010 and for 2011. By July 2011 his book of business was up 70 percent. In the beginning of August he had took on another $200,000 account from an agency that loved his ideas, energy and custom service. The potential of these 10 accounts was $1.3 million annually. At the end of 2011 the dealerships were successful and happy with their services; giving the circumstances of the lack of inventory and other problems mid-way through the year. His 10 accounts were up 55 percent over the past years revenue, 7 out 10 accounts were positive and 3 accounts ran print and digital for the first time. David has great business relationships with these accounts and still respects to this day.
Automotive Account Executive at Cars.com
June 2008 - January 2011 | Allentown, Pa
Written from the Cars.com Confidence Champion: David A Koder. With the rate of success that David has experienced, it's obvious that he never walks into a dealership unprepared. Whether talking with a current customer, former customer or prospect, David is armed with customized information on Cars.com value (sold vehicle reports, latest sales collateral, contact data, etc.) and knowledge on the help that each Cars.com product would provide for the type of store the dealer is managing. Most important of all, David exhibits a positive attitude that brings a dealer's relationship with Cars.com down to a personal level, which helps tremendously in his retention efforts - currently, David has a 90% retention rate and up to 73 satisfied Cars.com customers. All these traits have painted a picture in his dealers' minds that David is the person to call when they want to move metal.
Advertising Consultant at Clear Channel Interspace Airport Advertising
September 2007 - May 2008 | Allentown, Pa
First sales job. I managed four airports billboard programs. I had record success in all markets assigned to me...Milwaukee, West Palm Beach, Golfport Biloxi and El Paso. Generated $280,000 in 8 months and my average number of phone calls per day was 40.
Store Manager at Schuylkill Valley Sports
July 2000 - August 2007 | Doylestown, Pa
B2C - High energy and fast environment with shipments of new products Monday through Friday…train and educate the other employees on the new products. Because it was a family/employee owned business we had no strict way of displaying the products…imagination/creativity and commonsense were big factors in selling lots of products or no products at all. I started out as a part-time employee and worked my way into management by hard work, dedication, passion, coaching and yes, lots of energy. Serving the customers was in the mission statement and where I learned and held onto to laws of customer service that must not be broken. I had opening responsibilities along with closing. I handled money and was on the penny every morning and night. Every now and then we had to also take team school sports orders and see it through that the school team got everything they had order and was correct. Overall this was a great company to work for, I learned a lot and it is also part of the reason why I am who I am today.
